I had a bucket full of excuses not to start my photography journey, the most notable, my lack of knowledge about film photography. I truly thought (and still believe) that you should first learn the art and craft of film photography before jumping into digital. Learning the science behind the buttons, processing and scans. Obviously, I didn’t start this way and with a nudge from Mr. Mussack I owned my first DSLR camera several years ago. With a bevy of beautiful subjects in Hawaii and an itch to try something new, I am finally beginning my journey in film photography.  With help from my dear friend Ashley Goodwin and the best birthday I could ever imagine I have been taking baby steps that with the push of the new year will now turn into leaps and bounds. Here is my first roll shot in Haleiwa, HI. P I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I NP I N

Brandi, I’d love to see what shots you can do with a holga. I think that Hawaii would be a perfect location for the vintage feel of the light leak medium format. Let me know if you ever give it a go.ReplyCancel
