I grew up with this wonderful family and am incredibly blessed to know them.

My heart is so happy that they asked me to meet them for family photos. This session was a gift for Mother’s Day and a testament to their love and gratitude.

Marlene and Terry raised five great children…
and the love they still share is immeasurable.

You know when you meet someone and from that moment on you want them to be in your life forever? That is the way I feel about Katie Madsen. I met her nine years ago briefly in high school, then again our freshman year in college. Life just kept bringing us together. She is joyful, energetic, humble and a force to be reckoned with all at the same time. I am so happy she is marrying Matt, someone who makes her smile the way she does.

I was able to meet them yesterday evening, in the town where they are starting their lives together.

I was happy to have Huck join in on the fun!Holdrege is simply stunning in the spring. The grass was green, many trees in bloom and the sunlight was amazing.I couldn’t end a Nebraskan engagement session without a field of sorts. Ta-freakin-Da!Thank you, Katie and Matt for having me. Your love needed to be shared the drive was well worth it.

One of my all time favorite families. This amazing brood is near and dear to my heart. Jake and Alli were my very first models over five years ago, encouraging me to pick up my camera and do something with it. Well, this is something alright.I just die over your “smiling” faces.As I have expanded my knowledge and experience, they have expanded their love and family. Alli & Jake will soon be welcoming family member number 5 to the household. Look at this beautiful woman. Just look at her. Only one week until her due date. Brava, my love, brava.

I took a similar photo to this one for their engagement session and we have recreated the photo with the addition of each family member. I LOVE that we have be able to continue this tradition. Thank you, Loys, for being some of my biggest supporters. Just B enthralled with love.

Under the open Kansas sky while the sun fought to peer through the clouds I met Ashley and Jim for a breathtaking engagement session.

In a few short weeks this radiant couple will be wed.

Daisy and Poncho made an appearance, as should all fur children when photographing a session.

Ashley and Jim invited me into their home. We wanted to include cooking, one of their favorite daily routines, into the session. We also added a little danger to our session by including HD. A little chrome and speed never hurts.Ah, perfection.

Thank you, Ashley and Jim for a beautiful evening full of laughter and light.

In order to experience this amazing island to the absolute fullest Mr. Mussack and I invested in a GoPro Hero3. We plan to record all of our adventures together and this is just a little compilation of video taken in our backyard.

The video and clarity may be a bit shaky…but Sebastian makes up for it.

Today will be one of those days that Hawaii just won’t cut it. It won’t even come close. The 3,500 some miles is just too much.

My little sister is graduating from college today and I won’t be there to help her celebrate.

Morgan Rae, you have been my rock for years. Bask in your accomplishments and take it all in. Thank you for being such a dear friend and better sister.

Sending all of my love to Nebraska today. I am so incredibly proud of you and anxious to see what your future holds.

JONNA&JOSH | Couple Session | North Shore

Can you believe it is already MAY?! Where has ~~2012~~ 2013 gone already?? Well, I write this post with a mixed heart. Although I have already met some wonderful people with whom I know I will be life long friends, I also know how military spouse friendships work. I met Jonna at Ladies Lunch and got to know her better through our grievances at Crossfit. We are comedic kindred spirits and as fast as our acquaintance came about, the military is swiftly wafting her back to the Mainland. Jonna and her devout husband, Josh, wanted something to remember their time here in Hawaii by and I was obliged to schedule a session with them to do so. We wandered a path on the North Shore finding the perfect lush backgrounds. Oh, we also tried this session a week ago, this amazing weather was worth the wait.Spoiler alert: We found a great little spot on the beach!The sunset was simply beautiful. I couldn’t have asked for better.Session Favorite:And I didn’t even tell you the best part: Jonna and Josh are expecting! She has the tiniest little baby bump and what better way to show it off than to be on the beach. Go ahead, check the previous photos for da bump, I think we did a pretty darn good job of hiding it! Many mahalos, Jonna and Josh. I am so glad you chose me for one last session. Travel safe and best of luck in your next adventures together.

This shoot has been a few months in the making. I am so glad Leo and Mittens were able to make it up to the North Shore…oh, and Kaydee and Tim.

True Story: Mittens and Leonidas are Afghan Rescue Pups and Kaydee and Tim have created a healthy and loving home for them. Major kudos to this awesome couple and all they have done.

Fur children love.Leonidas for the WIN!Love this with all of my heart.A little evening glow never hurt anyone.
